Judith Mitnick Attorney
JUDITH A. MITNICK serves on the Board of the Insight Memory Care, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving those with dementia and their families, and is active in Fairfax County’s Pets on Wheels program, which brings pets and their humans to nursing homes for visits.  Judy is also a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Arlington and Fairfax County Bar Associations, the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and its Virginia Chapter.  She is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Judy is also an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims for Veteran’s Benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and is a qualified Guardian Ad litem (GAL) for incapacitated persons for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In 2012 Judy was named one of  Virginia’s “Top Rated Lawyers” in the area of Trusts and Estates.  She was also awarded a Client Distinction Award by Martindale-Hubbell.

Judy works closely with her clients in planning for the future with the goal of maintaining their independence to the maximum extent possible.  Judy works with all age groups with varying needs. She has gained extensive experience in the area of guardianships having been appointed to serve as guardian by the Courts and having served as a decision maker in various capacities when asked by her clients.  Because of her hands on experience she is acutely aware of the problems which confront guardians, agents, trustees and family members and is able to provide them with much needed guidance.

Judy is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law where she was managing editor of the Law Review.
