HELEN COHN NEEDHAM — (“Retired”)

Helen Cohn Needham is a nationally known Elder Law Attorney. She is one of the first practitioners of elder law in the United States, beginning her work in this field in 1984. In 1987, she became active in the newly formed National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). As part of its leadership, she played a principal role in the development and definition of the new specialty. She also led the effort to develop a national program to identify, test and certify attorneys as specialists in elder law. That program was accredited by the American Bar Association. In 1995, she became one of the first sixty-eight attorneys nationwide to be certified.

JUDITH A. MITNICK—("Of Counsel")

Judith A. Mitnick serves on the Board of the Alzheimer’s Family Day Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving those with dementia and their families. Judy is also a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Arlington Bar Association and its Section on Law and Aging, the Fairfax Bar Association and its Section on Elder Law and Wills, Trusts and Estates, the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Virginia Association of Elder Law Attorneys (VAELA).

Susan K. Pollack serves on the Board of Directors of the ARC of Northern Virginia. She has also served as the Chairperson of the Falls Church Senior Citizens Commission, on the Executive Board of the Falls Church Education Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association of the National Capital Area.

Vera L. Golenzer joined Needham Mitnick & Pollack as “Of Counsel” in January 2014. Vera is experienced in Estate Planning, Elder Law & Special Needs Planning and is licensed in Virginia, DC and Maryland. Vera is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Northern Virginia Estate Planning Council, and the McLean Estate Planning Council, where she served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2012.
